Lemon Juice and Oil for Cough, Skin, and Hair


Lemon had been cultivated in the East far long before the West, consequently the oriental people knew so many secrets about all parts of the tree. They new how to pickle lemon. They knew its juice detoxifying properties, and that its peel detoxifying properties are more powerful, and that its seeds detoxifying properties are even more powerful. They knew its properties that help resist flu and cough. Then the experience with Lemon as not a food has become international.

Lemon Can Cure Cough If Used Correctly

Extracting the lemon juice to cure cough is the limiting factor in the process. People are to extract the juice from the raw lemon and this will not do much to cough. The best way is to extract the juice after the lemon is boiled while intact to kill enzymes in the rind or peel, and here is the procedure:

- Put a medium or big sized lemon in a can filled with water and heat
- Leave the lemon in the boiling water for 10-15 minutes (it will become soft but intact)
- Discard water and take the lemon and cut and squeeze it to extract its juice
- Clear the juice or filter it
- Add 60 ml (3-4 TBSP) of honey to the juice
* Add 2 TBSP of glycerin to this mixture before adding honey.

Keep it in the fridge and take 1 TBSP 3 times daily. Over time this mixture proved to be the best natural cough cure. Prepare for the fall and winter the easy sweet way.

All Lemon Parts Can be used for Many Purposes:

- Modified lemon juice can be used to rehydrate dehydrated infants suffering from diarrhea or vomiting, by adding a grain of salt to Lemonade (super lemonade)

- Lemon juice with Glycerin can be tried for freckles and blemishes

- Lemon juice can help cardiac patients specially those on loop diuretics, as it is rich in Potassium

- Together with olive oil, lemon juice can dissolve biliary stones.

- Lemon juice can dissolve some types of kidney stones, thanks to its vitamin C content

- Lemon juice can be used as a gargle for gingivitis and halitosis (bad breath)

- Lemon peel is put in the frying pan to prevent dispersion of fish odor. It can also be used to clean any odor on hands. It whitens teeth. It can remove stains from clothes, stoves, appliances...etc. Adding 1-2 half peels to cooking rice will make it brightening.

- Lemon oil is used in aromatherapy and perfumes. It also has antibacterial and expectorant effects.

Lemon Juice Can Detoxify Your Body

Lemon ---------- 5 small fruits
Tea ------------ 1 cup
Honey ---------- 1 teaspoon
Nigella oil ---- 3-4 drops

Sweeten tea using honey, add lemon juice and Nigella oil and drink the mixture daily for 1 week.


Lemon Juice as a Body Scrub ( Natural Exfoliant)

1/2 to 2/3 cup ----------- granulated sugar
1 --------------------------- Lemon juice

- Mix sugar and lemon juice to form a paste.
- While showering invigorate your skin with the paste. Use the inside of the lemon rind to rub heels and elbows.

You will utilize the alpha hydroxy acids present in lemon juice to exfoliate your skin naturally.

Lemon Juice as A Cleanser

60 ml ( about 4 TBSP) ------- lemon juice, freshly-squeezed
30 ml ( about 2 TBSP) ------- Cucumber juice
330 ml (1 1/2 cup) ---------- water

Combine lemon juice, cucumber juice and water. After cleansing, smooth mixture over your face and allow to air dry. It is better to freshly prepare your mixture as it becomes stale after the fifth day.

You make use of both the alpha hydroxy acids present in the juice as well as its acidity.

Lemon Balm Leaves for Normal and Combination Skin

1 teaspoon ------------------- Dried lemon balm leaves
2 TBSP ----------------------- Rose water
1 TBSP ----------------------- Yogurt
1 TBSP ----------------------- Wheat germ oil
1 TBSP ----------------------- Honey
1 Gram ----------------------- Propolis powder (bee glue)

Soak the lemon balm leaves in water for sometime, add the rest of the ingredients to the soaked leaves and mix them well in a blender. You may use the filtrate of the leaves for ease. Apply on the skin for 10 minutes and wash.

Lemon Juice for Dry Skin

1 teaspoon ------------------- Lemon juice
1 teaspoon ------------------- Olive oil
1 teaspoon ------------------- Honey
1 ------------------------------- Egg yolk

Mix ingredients together. Wash your face, spread on the mixture, leave it on for ten minutes, then wash it off.


Lemon Juice for Oily Skin

1/2 teaspoon ----------------- Lemon juice
2 -------------------------------- Strawberries
1 -------------------------------- EGG white
1 teaspoon ------------------- Honey
2-3 drops --------------------- Sage oil

Blend the ingredients together until forming a consistent cream, smooth your face and leave for 10-15 minutes. Wash it off using luke water.

Lemon Juice For Your Hands

1 teaspoon ------------------ Flax seed oil
1 Liter ------------------------ Water
100 ml ------------------------ Glycerin
3 ------------------------------- Lemons juice
1 TBSP ----------------------- Dettol healthy touch handwash

- Mix lemon juice, water and glycerin
- Mix flax seed oil and Dettol thoroughly to form emulsion
- Mix the 2 solutions together
- Store, apply on hands and leave to dry

Lemon juice for Your Feet

1 ------------------------------ Lemon juice
3 TBSP ---------------------- Glycerin

Add this mixture to hot water in bowl. Put your feet for 15-20 minutes in this water.
It is useful for dry, rough feet.

Lemon Peel for Armpit Odor

1 ------------------- Lemon peel
20 ml -------------- Glycerin
1 ml ---------------- Oil of Thyme

Mix in the blender and keep the resultant mixture to remove armpit odor. Don't use it if you have a sensitive skin.


Lemon Juice for Your Nails

1 gm -------------- Table salt
2 ml --------------- Almond Oil
2 ml --------------- Castor Oil
1 TBSP ---------- Lemon juice

Dissolve salt in the lemon juice, mix vigorously oil and juice to form a milky mixture ( better in a blender ), apply on your nails and leave until it is dried. It will strengthen your nails.
